An Apostille is a special certificate that verifies the authenticity of a document for use in countries that are part of the Hague Convention, such as Germany and Mexico. Issued by the Secretary of State, an Apostille ensures your documents—such as birth certificates, diplomas, or powers of attorney—are recognized internationally. Think of it as a global “stamp of approval” for your paperwork!
For countries not part of the Hague Convention, such as Canada and China, you'll need Authentication (also called legalization). This process involves both the Secretary of State and the destination country's embassy or consulate. Emboss will facilitate this on your behalf.
The apostille/authentication process can be overwhelming, and we're here to handle it for you. Each case is unique, and we ask that you begin with the intake form by clicking 'Get started' below. We'll reach out to you for more information, and then you'll send us your original documents, either by mail or in person. Once received, we'll verify the documents, prepare them for apostille certification, and submit them to the appropriate state or federal authority for authentication. After the apostille is issued, we securely return the certified documents to you or forward them directly to their destination, per your instructions. Please note that this is a general guide—each case may involve specific steps or timelines, and we’ll work closely with you to ensure a smooth process tailored to your needs.
You'll receive a fee sheet after submitting the intake form.
We will direct you to submit deposits/balances here after we review your documents and accept your order. A deposit of $100.00 is due upon acceptance of your apostille/authentication order. Any remaining balance is due prior to completion of your order.
